For years I have stood on the sidelines of the greek yogurt fanaticism. Mostly because I’m not that big of a yogurt fan but also because most greek yogurts are low fat or fat free and that usually means they taste bland and I refuse to eat bland food – life is too short.
I recently discovered that Trader Joe’s carries a organic whole milk greek yogurt so I gave it a shot. I had to add some extras of course. In this case, I added fresh blackberries, probiotics for some extra love to your friendly gut bacteria and gelatin – your joints and skin will thank you for this one.
It’s naturally sweetened with honey, you’ll love it!
This is an easy way to get good fats in your meal with the added health boosts of gelatin and probiotics.

Blackberry Greek Yogurt Parfait Naturally Sweetened
Makes 4-6 servings
- 2 cups of Whole Milk Greek Yogurt <— Trader Joe’s is one of the only places I have found whole milk greek yogurt. You could also use full fat regular yogurt if you really needed to.
- 1 cup of Blackberries
- 2 tablespoons of Gelatin (I use this one HERE)
- 4 servings of Probiotics ( HERE are the Probiotics I used, Jarrow is a good company)
- 2 tablespoons Raw Honey (this is a good one HERE)
In a small pot, add half a cup of water and heat up to boiling, then add gelatin one tablespoons at a time and stir until dissolved. Let that cool a little, you don’t want to add the hot liquid to the mix with the probiotics. While that cools a little…separately in a large bowl, add yogurt, blackberries, probiotics and raw honey and blend using a handheld immersion blender, like this one HERE. Slowly add the gelatin mix into the yogurt mix then refrigerate until solid – like jello. You can also use individual serving ramekins or your favorite jello mold.
Serving Tips: Drizzle more honey on top if you’d like and add granola. I have a nice gluten free granola recipe you can get to by clicking HERE.
